Coach Thomas Tuchel gave high praise to Harry Kane after the striker put in a brilliant performance in the Nations League match against the Czechs, where Kane scored two goals and equaled Peter Shilton's record of 125 caps. The match which took place at Wembley ended in a 3-0 win for England, which brought them closer to the quarter-finals of the Nations League.
"Brilliant, brilliant," said Tuchel. He added that the team's overall performance was very good, and Kane showed his quality by being decisive in a special match for him. "He has been hugely influential for us again, and on this very special day, equaling Peter Shilton's record, shows just how extraordinary he is. He deserves the praise and spotlight on this stage."
Kane, who received a standing ovation from the crowd when taken off towards the end of the match, is now set to surpass that record next month when England play Croatia. In their previous match, England won 7-0 over Croatia in Rijeka, and the 2-0 win in Prague last week was also an important step for them.
When asked if his team was better prepared now than at the end of last summer, Tuchel replied, "Yes, of course, and that's what we have to do. Our aim is to continue to develop and improve. We have experience together and have had big tournaments. All that is very positive and it remains important to move forward and improve, especially in sport, and that's what we're trying to achieve."
Tuchel also emphasized the importance of structure in the team and joint efforts to maintain intensity and togetherness. "The players who were with us at the World Cup maintained the standards and culture within the team, both on the pitch and off the pitch. I think that shows, and you can see that the long time in this camp gave us the opportunity to evaluate, have meetings and more time to train. Together, we were able to develop something because a common language and patterns of play started to sink in. Like after the big win in Croatia, we implemented things that we didn't want to compromise on. Intensity, effort and we created good momentum throughout the game, creating chances and scoring goals which was beautiful, so it was a very good camp overall.","slug":"thomas-tuchel-praises-harry-kane-after-scoring-historic-two-goals","seoTitle":"Thomas Tuchel Praises Harry Kane After Scored Historic Two-Goal","metaDescription":"Harry Kane scored twice against the Czechs and equaled Peter Shilton's record of 125 caps at Wembley, a highlight in England's win.
