Teun Gijselhart Joins Deportivo La Coruña

Teun Gijselhart has moved from De Graafschap to Deportivo La Coruña, with a transfer fee of 1 million euros which could increase to 1.4 million euros.
Teun Gijselhart has officially left De Graafschap to join Deportivo La Coruña. The transfer of the 21-year-old player provides De Graafschap with significant income, with the Spanish club paying 1 million euros, and this amount has the potential to increase to around 1.4 million euros.
Gijselhart was a key player at De Graafschap during last season, appearing in 36 of 38 games in the Keuken Kampioen Division, all as a starter, and registering two assists. Even though he had only been with De Graafschap for one year, his impressive performance earned him the opportunity to play at a higher level.
At Deportivo La Coruña, Gijselhart will join a club with a rich history. Deportivo were the first La Liga champions after the turn of the millennium and are still remembered for competing in the Champions League in 2004/05. The Municipal de Riazor Stadium, which is Deportivo's headquarters, has a capacity of around 35 thousand spectators.
However, the team's performance in recent years has not been very good. Deportivo last played in La Liga in the 2017/18 season, and have since suffered relegation to the lower divisions. Now, with promotion to La Liga, Gijselhart will have the opportunity to show his abilities in Spain's highest competition. He will also be teammates with Zakaria Eddahchouri, who previously joined Deportivo after leaving Telstar.
