Stoke City have signed midfielder Svante Ingelsson from Sheffield Wednesday on a three-year deal, becoming the club's third signing of the summer.
Stoke City have officially announced the signing of midfielder Svante Ingelsson from Sheffield Wednesday on a three-year contract. The 28-year-old is a former Swedish youth international who spent the last two seasons with the Owls, making a total of 75 appearances in the Championship. Additionally, Ingelsson also has experience playing in Italy and Germany, with more than 250 games in his career to date.
Ingelsson is Stoke's third signing of the summer, after the club previously signed midfielder Djibril Soumare from SC Braga and goalkeeper Josh Griffiths from West Bromwich Albion. Stoke sporting director Jonathan Walters said Ingelsson was a "tireless participant".
“During a difficult season in 25-26 [Sheffield Wednesday's financial problems and relegation], he consistently demonstrated high standards with his attitude, work ethic and willingness to take responsibility,” Walters said. "Those are qualities we highly value and we believe will complement the group of players we are building.",
