Souffian El Karouani has confirmed his move to Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia, where he will play until 2029.

At the beginning of May, Souffian El Karouani announced that he would be leaving FC Utrecht, and now his new club has been revealed. The 25 year old player will join Al-Qadsiah, a team that finished fourth in the Saudi Arabian league last season.

El Karouani revealed that he had signed a contract with a new club, but was not allowed to reveal this information at the time because Al-Qadsiah was still involved in the competition. Now, the move has been officially confirmed on Thursday evening.

At Al-Qadsiah, El Karouani will meet several famous names such as Koen Casteels, who is the club's goalkeeper, and Nacho Fernández, a former Real Madrid player who now serves as captain. Apart from that, Julian Weigl also plays there, and Otávio and Mateo Retegui are the other players under contract with the club.

With good performance, Al-Qadsiah ended last season in fourth position with 22 points more than Al-Ittihad who was in fifth position. As a result of this ranking, Al-Qadsiah will take part in the AFC Champions League competition with El Karouani. However, unfortunately, El Karouani was not selected for the national team in the World Cup. Four of his Al-Qadsiah teammates are in the Saudi Arabia national squad.

El Karouani has signed a contract that ties him until mid-2029 in the Middle East.
