Kone, on Saturday, June 20, was released from the hospital and returned to join his teammates at the Canadian training camp. He received a warm welcome from players and staff, who sought to provide moral support in these difficult times. The remarks came less than 48 hours after he suffered a serious injury in the match against Qatar. In a video shared by the Canadian national team on social media, Kone is seen exiting a vehicle on crutches, greeted with applause and cheers from his teammates. After hugging and taking photos with staff, he was then transferred to a wheelchair with his injured leg placed on a pillow depicting the Canadian flag. "Thank you to the staff and medical team at Vancouver General Hospital," wrote the Canadian team at the end of the video.
