Sergi Roberto announced his departure from Como after helping the club achieve Champions League qualification, expressing pride in their achievement and gratitude to the fans and staff.
Sergi Roberto believes that Como has a bright future after the Spaniard announced that he would be leaving the Serie A club at the end of his contract. Roberto joined Como from Barcelona in 2024 and has made 37 appearances in all competitions, but confirmed his departure via social media on Friday. The 34-year-old helped Como finish fourth in Serie A in the 2025-26 season, thus securing Champions League football for next season for the first time in the club's history. The team coached by Cesc Fabregas became the 16th team to qualify for the European Cup or Champions League from Italy's top league, but Roberto will not be part of that journey. "I arrived when the club had just gained promotion to Serie A, full of enthusiasm for a new challenge," said Roberto. Forza Como!" With the Champions League on the horizon, Como have activated Alvaro Morata's purchase option and signed him on a permanent deal after a successful loan spell last season. It is also reported that they are closing in on a deal to sign defender Kaiki from Brazilian club Cruzeiro.
