Rome, Wins First Plusvalenza: How Much More Is Needed?

La Roma is working to create the necessary plusvalenza to meet UEFA parameters, with one transaction already formalized.

As time goes by and players change, June remains an important time for Roma in terms of plusvalenza. Although the club has earned almost 50 million euros from qualifying for next season's Champions League, Roma still have to face the limitations set out in the settlement agreement signed with UEFA. While waiting for Tony D’Amico to officially take over as sporting director, the club at Trigoria have been working to generate revenue before the June 30 deadline, which is the end of their financial year.

Their target is to appear before UEFA with around 60 million euros in plusvalenza, the amount necessary to fulfill the agreed terms. Recently, Roma succeeded in completing the first step with the official recovery of Buba Sangaré from Elche for 4.5 million euros. Taking into account the 10% of future sales that must be given to Levante and a residual value in the budget of around 900 thousand euros, this transaction brings a plusvalenza of just over 3 million euros.

Towards the end of the month, Roma will try to reach the target number without having to sacrifice their key players. In this context, the reinstatement of Baldanzi by Genoa and the possible sale of Ziolkowski to the Premier League could be useful additional steps to balance the club's finances. However, if these small steps are not enough, clubs may be forced to consider offers for some of their prized players. Some names that can provide significant plusvalenza include Ndicka, Soulé, and Koné.
