Rob Edwards has turned down an offer from Burnley, leaving the Clarets still searching for a new manager. Edwards, who was shockingly sacked as Wolves coach earlier this month, is a candidate for the position at Turf Moor. He was even considered when Burnley pursued Craig Bellamy to replace Scott Parker, only for Bellamy to change his mind at the last minute and opt to stay with Wales. This means Burnley remain without a manager two months after Parker's departure due to relegation from the Premier League. The Burnley squad is due to return for a pre-season fitness check on Monday and will tour the United States next month, with their first game against FC Cincinnati on July 11. Edwards is available following his exit from Wolves, which came after the club backed the 43-year-old, despite suffering relegation from the Premier League. He joined from Middlesbrough in November, with the club relying on their former defender to stabilize the team and take them back to the top flight, but he was replaced by Portuguese coach Cesar Peixoto.
