Real Madrid Denies Rumors Regarding Michael Olise from Bayern Munich

Real Madrid have denied reports linking them with Bayern Munich and France winger Michael Olise. The Spanish club stated that they had not had "direct or indirect contact" with the 24-year-old, "his representatives, or individuals in his close circle" after news emerged that Madrid were considering a bid of more than 200 million euros (£173 million).

"Real Madrid would also like to emphasize the excellent institutional relationship it maintains with Bayern Munich... and regrets the spread of speculation that does not correspond to reality," the club added in a statement released on Saturday. The statement also said that "any potential interest in players held by other clubs must be addressed first between the two entities."

Olise scored 22 goals and provided 31 assists for Bayern in all competitions in the 2025-26 season and was a key member of France's 2026 World Cup squad. He provided the assist for Kylian Mbappe's opener in a 3-1 win against Senegal in their first group game.

Real Madrid, now coached by Jose Mourinho, have signed Bernardo Silva on a free transfer this summer, defender Marc Cucurella in a £52m deal from Chelsea, and will sign defender Ibrahima Konate after his contract at Liverpool expires at the end of this month. However, they have rejected a 150 million euro (£130 million) bid for striker Julian Alvarez from city rivals Atletico Madrid. The offer comes after Real president Florentino Perez vowed to make a bid of 150 million euros for an as-yet-unnamed galactico if re-elected to his post. Perez won 65% of the vote this month to extend his term until 2030 after serving in office since 2009.
