Mauricio Pochettino and the US national team will have to play without their star striker, Christian Pulisic, who has been confirmed to miss tonight's 2026 World Cup group stage match against Australia. Pulisic was withdrawn in the first half of the US national team's 2026 World Cup opener against Paraguay last week, and although both the player and coach claimed it was just a precautionary measure, the injury was serious enough to prevent 'Captain America' from playing against Australia.
However, there is still Serie A representation in the US squad through Juventus' versatile midfielder, Weston McKennie. Former Milan defender Sergino Dest also remains in Pochettino's line-up. On the Australian side, Parma's Alessandro Circati is included in the line-up, while former Italian youth international Cristian Volpato is on the bench. Kick-off is scheduled for 20.00 BST.
