Young Barcelona Players Reject Transfer Interruptions to Fight for Hansi Flick's Trust

Barcelona defender Hector Fort is focused on earning a place in Hansi Flick's squad, rejecting distractions from transfers despite interest from leading European clubs.
Barcelona defender, Hector Fort, is currently in the spotlight after emphasizing his focus on getting a place in Hansi Flick's squad ahead of the new season. Despite several European clubs keeping an eye on his situation, Fort decided to postpone all transfer discussions until he gets a chance to prove his worth during pre-season.
According to a report from Roger Torello from Mundo Deportivo, this young defender is attracting attention from several well-known European clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Bayer Leverkusen. However, Fort's goal is to convince Hansi Flick that he deserves a role at Barcelona.
After spending the 2025/26 season on loan at Elche, Fort now faces what could be the most important summer of his career. He has been selected to be included in the group prepared by Flick to begin pre-season preparations on July 13, providing a valuable opportunity to show the German coach his immediate progress.

Fort is expected to participate in all of Barcelona's summer preparations, including the training camp scheduled to take place at St George's Park, England, between July 27 and August 3. With many international players returning late due to World Cup commitments, a number of academy graduates and players returning from loan will have the opportunity to impress.
For Fort, this period could determine whether he remains at Barcelona for the upcoming campaign or seeks further development elsewhere. Despite his strong determination, it must be admitted that getting into Barcelona's main squad will not be easy for Fort. The right-back position is already quite filled, with Jules Kounde expected to remain the main choice. Eric Garcia has also proven capable of playing in the position, while Ronald Araujo offers another alternative when tactical adjustments are required.
Additionally, highly regarded academy prospect Xavi Espart is also vying for a chance in the same position, further increasing the level of competition. However, Fort had no intention of surrendering without a fight. His ambition is not only to be part of the squad, but also to prove himself at the club he has supported all his life.
Interestingly, if Flick ultimately decides that regular opportunities in the first team will be difficult to guarantee, Fort is unlikely to be short of alternatives. In this case, Inter Milan have maintained their interest since last season and continue to monitor developments. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also watching the situation in Germany closely. However, rather than rushing out, Fort wants his future to be determined by what happens on the pitch during pre-season, and only after receiving a decision from Flick will he consider other possibilities.
