Leanne Crichton expressed confidence in Derek McInnes as Rangers' new manager, highlighting McInnes' understanding of the club and his communication skills.

Leanne Crichton says there will be no “surprises” for new Rangers manager Derek McInnes. Crichton, who is head coach of the Rangers women's team, is now a partner of McInnes, who has left Hearts to return to Ibrox after previously playing there since 2000. "He knows this club well, has managed teams that have played against this club many times, and has played for this club, so he knows everything," Crichton said in an interview with BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound. "There will be no surprises for Derek. "His communication skills are vital, he knows how to manage the media in this country, understands the fans' expectations, has a clear identity and style and a good understanding of what kind of team he wants to form. "I'm really looking forward to getting back to work next week and seeing what impact he can have on the club as a whole. "I have no doubt he is the right man for the job and this is a very exciting appointment."
