Richard 'Shep' Shepherd, former commentator for Cardiff City and BBC Radio Wales, has died aged 81. He is known as a club historian and match commentator.
Former Cardiff City commentator and BBC Radio Wales journalist Richard 'Shep' Shepherd has died aged 81. Shepherd began covering the Bluebirds in the early 1970s during his time as a journalist at the BBC. He became Cardiff's official match program editor in 1985 and worked for the club for more than three decades as a club historian and match commentator. A statement from Cardiff said: "We offer our sincere condolences to Richard's widow Brenda, his family and his many friends and colleagues in Welsh sport and further afield. With fond memories. Rest in peace Shep."
