Liverpool are ready to recruit a new player similar to Alexander Isak, after previously failing to get Isak. The club is now looking at Yasin Ayari as a new prospect.
Liverpool is preparing to recruit a new player similar to Alexander Isak. Isak's arrival at Liverpool last season was not just a prestigious transfer, but the result of a search that had lasted almost a decade. Liverpool's interest in the Swedish striker began in 2016, when Michael Edwards identified Isak as one of Europe's best young talents during his time at AIK. Liverpool explored the possibility of bringing him to Anfield, but the teenager ultimately chose Borussia Dortmund as the next step in his development.
Despite this, Liverpool's interest never faded. Several years later, after Isak showed his abilities as one of the most attractive strikers in La Liga while playing for Real Sociedad, Liverpool again considered recruiting him. However, at that time Jurgen Klopp preferred Darwin Nunez, who eventually joined from Benfica.
Despite experiencing setbacks in these efforts, Edwards remains an admirer of Isak. After returning to lead Liverpool's football operations, Isak again emerged as the main target. A long and complicated saga with Newcastle United ensued, but Liverpool finally managed to secure Isak, ending one of the most persistent transfer searches in the club's history.

However, so far, the transfer has not really exploded. Isak showed flashes of the qualities that have made him so sought after, but consistency and goals have been hard to come by. However, there was no sense of panic at Anfield. With Andoni Iraola now preparing to embark on his first season as full coach at Liverpool, there is growing confidence that the new coach can bring out the best version of Isak. After waiting so long to sign him, Liverpool are confident their patience will be rewarded.
Isak proved his exciting potential at the World Cup, scoring one goal and providing two assists in Sweden's opener against Tunisia. It is hoped that it is just the start of better performance. However, in that opening match, there is one other player who may also attract Liverpool's attention - Yasin Ayari, who is considered to be Isak's successor. After Isak left AIK, Ayari emerged as the next big prospect from the club's academy, standing out in a similar way to Isak. As a midfielder, Ayari spent three years at AIK before joining Brighton, where he took a little time to adapt. However, last season was a breakthrough campaign for him, breaking into the starting line-up and becoming one of the most unpredictable midfielders in the Premier League.
Still only 22 years old, Ayari scored two goals in his first World Cup match against Tunisia, and now TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool are one of the clubs who have shown interest in the Sweden international. Brighton are in contract negotiations with Ayari to extend his deal, but the report states that Liverpool, among a number of other clubs, are monitoring the situation and are ready to take a chance if the opportunity arises.
