Goalkeeper Sergey Pesyakov Responds to Zenit's Interest

Goalkeeper Sergey Pesyakov responded to rumors that Zenit was interested in signing him. Previously, it was known that the blue-white-red team planned to replace experienced goalkeeper, Mikhail Kerzhakov, who had retired.

"There is information that Zenit is interested in you as a third goalkeeper. Is there any real interest?" a journalist asked Pesyakov. "I can just imagine that. I heard from one source that this interest does exist. Currently, you could say that experienced goalkeepers are becoming a trend. Like Krasnodar with Dyupin, Spartak with Dovbnya, and also Zenit with Mikhail Kerzhakov. However, rumors are still rumors," he answered.

Pesyakov was then asked if he would be willing to accept the role of third goalkeeper. "It's difficult. I still want to play. Third role? The opportunity can come at any time. I remember when under coach Unai Emery, I went to training as the fourth goalkeeper, and came back as the first goalkeeper. It can happen. The opportunity can arise at any time.
