Lokomotiv captain Anton Mitryushkin recently participated in the annual poll held by "Championship" regarding the award for the "Best Young Player of the RPL". In the poll, Mitryushkin revealed the five best young players this season. In fifth place, he chose Igor Dmitriev from Spartak, while in fourth place was Kurban Rasulov from Dynamo. Akhon's Dmitry Pestryakov finished third, while CSKA's Matvey Kislyak came in second. For the best position, Mitryushkin chose Alexey Batrakov from Lokomotiv. At the end of each season, the coaches and team captains participate in the traditional voting held by the "Championship", where they are asked to rate the five best young players from the RPL clubs. The main criteria for this award is that all participating players must be 21 years of age or younger at the start of the season. Coaches and club captains can only select three players from their own club. The player selected by the captain or coach as the best will receive six points, four points for second place, three points for third place, two points for fourth place, and one point for fifth place. After that, the points obtained by the young players from the coach and club captain will be added up. Previously, the "Championship" award was won by Gamid Agalarov (2021/2022 season), Sergey Pinyaev (2022/2023 season), Konstantin Tyukavin (2023/2024 season), and Alexey Batrakov (2024/2025 season).
