Jose Mourinho Evaluates Two Young Real Madrid Players before Deciding on Their Future

Bagikan:

Jose Mourinho is assessing two Real Madrid youngsters, Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono, before making a decision on their future. Both will begin pre-season training with the team, and their futures will be decided after Mourinho evaluates their performances.

Real Madrid's new coach, Jose Mourinho, firmly made changes to his squad according to his wishes, without showing mercy to the existing players. Mourinho has made big changes in defence, and the midfield is also being linked with several big signings.

The next logical step would be for Mourinho and the club to identify players to sell to balance the finances. Names such as Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, Fran Garcia, Gonzalo Garcia and even Brahim Diaz have been linked with a possible exit from the club.

As reported by Rodra recently, Mourinho has identified two young Real Madrid stars he wants to keep around for now. He puts their future in the 'conditional' category and will make a decision after taking a closer look at what they have to offer. Two names Mourinho looks at in this way are Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono, both of whom spent last season in the first team in limited roles.

Currently, the coach wants the two players to stay in Madrid and start pre-season with him next month. He would only decide their future after seeing them in action in person. Although Gonzalo and Mastantuono are promising young players, Mourinho clearly has other options that are more priority for the two positions these players represent.

Gonzalo, who is a natural striker, has to compete directly with Kylian Mbappe who is the team's main striker, as well as Endrick who returned from loan and has reportedly made a good impression on the coach. Meanwhile, Mastantuono will have to compete with new Real Madrid signing Bernardo Silva, who is expected to become a regular starter for the club on the right wing.

Thus, the two players will not only have to consider the coach's decision but also the lack of playing time if they remain at the club before deciding on their future. Both have not featured in the ongoing FIFA World Cup for their respective countries and will be in action in front of Mourinho only when pre-season begins. Their future will likely be determined towards the end of July.
