Jhonatan Narvaez from Ecuador managed to achieve victory in the third stage of the Tour de Suisse after attacking the group of runners, while Tadej Pogacar maintained his top position in the overall standings.

In the third stage of the Tour de Suisse, a team of sprinters experienced a timing error that left them several seconds behind, giving the runaway runners a chance to take the win. Jhonatan Narvaez from UAE Emirates, together with Xandro Melisse, managed to maintain their lead until the finish line. Meanwhile, Tadej Pogacar chose not to attack after experiencing an incident with his girlfriend, Urska Zigart, in the previous stage.

This stage has a distance of around 158 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 2700 meters, most of which occurs in the first half of the race, while the final 60 kilometers are relatively flat back towards Bad Ragaz. As expected, the attack of runners began to occur on the hilly track, and Jhonatan Narvaez was one of the runners who managed to separate himself from the main group along with Melisse and Michal Kwiatkowski. However, Kwiatkowski was unable to defend and had to return to the back group.

Narvaez and Melisse continued to work together and managed to increase their lead to almost four minutes. About 30 kilometers from the end, the team of sprinters started to help each other to catch up, but Narvaez and Melisse remained solid at the front.

In the final sprint, Narvaez beat Melisse with a time of 3:34.46 hours, while Uno-X's Magnus Cort finished third. Tadej Pogacar, despite not participating in the attack, still leads the overall standings by 2:50 minutes from Richard Carapaz of EF Education - EasyPost. The next stage will be a mostly flat 23.7 kilometer individual time, followed by a tough stage with a total elevation gain of almost 4500 meters, which includes climbing the Col de la Croix three times.
