Zola expressed his views on Paolo Maldini, "Paolo is a very capable, intelligent and brilliant person. If he accepts the role of technical director of the national team," said Zola, "it would be very good for our football, provided he is given adequate conditions to carry out his job. Whoever comes into the position must be able to do the best for Italian football which is currently struggling. As for the head coach?
