Heerenveen Release Nordin Bakker to Danish Top Club

SC Heerenveen have sold Nordin Bakker after one year at the club. This 28 year old goalkeeper has now officially joined Denmark's top club, FC Midtjylland. Bakker previously moved from Almere City to Heerenveen, where he acted as second goalkeeper behind Bernt Klaverboer. When Midtjylland came with an offer, Bakker expressed his desire to move.

"Last season, at the end of pre-season, we wanted to add one more goalkeeper. At that time, Nordin appeared as an option, because he didn't have a club," said technical manager Johan Hansma via Heerenveen's official channel. "He has filled his role well at our club and performed well in the matches he has played. We wish Nordin the best for his future career."

Bakker is a product of the Fortuna Wormerveer and FC Volendam academies, before continuing his career at Beroe (Bulgaria), Almere and Heerenveen.
