July 5, 2026 · Global
Eintracht Frankfurt has officially extended the contract of Niko Ilicevic, a 15-year-old player who has shown great potential in the U-19 league.
Eintracht Frankfurt have taken an important step by extending Niko Ilicevic's contract, after the youngster put in impressive performances in the Under-19 side. Ilicevic, who is just 15, was involved in controversy last summer after being dropped in two friendly matches, which resulted in financial sanctions for the club. However, Ilicevic's development was not hampered by this incident, and he is now ready to continue his career with Frankfurt.
Ilicevic has been part of the Eintracht Frankfurt academy since 2018 and scored ten goals and provided six assists in the U-19 league. His charming appearance makes the club increasingly believe in this player's potential.

"Niko Ilicevic has shown extraordinary talent from an early age," said SGE Sports Director, Timmo Hardung. "He has taken big steps in the A-Jugend and is able to compete against older players at international level. It is a logical step to extend his contract."
Despite interest from a number of big clubs, Ilicevic chose to remain with Eintracht Frankfurt and will begin summer preparations with the first team coached by Adi Hütter. Hardung emphasized the importance of managing expectations of these young players wisely. "Niko will soon be 16 years old and we want him to continue to develop quietly. We are very happy that he has chosen to continue his journey with Eintracht Frankfurt."
With this contract, it is hoped that Ilicevic can make a more significant contribution in the future to the Frankfurt-based club.
