Danny Rohl has expressed his gratitude to Rangers following his switch to Red Bull Salzburg, stressing the importance of returning to the club's attacking identity.

Danny Rohl thanked Rangers after leaving the Scottish club to join Red Bull Salzburg and undergo his first training session with the Austrian club. The 37-year-old German coach left Ibrox after eight months in charge, previously he served as manager at Sheffield Wednesday. Derek McInnes was appointed as Rangers manager shortly after the announcement of Rohl's departure.

"I have been here several times before and know Salzburg well – the club has always been known for its attacking and brave play," Rohl said in his first press conference at RB Salzburg. "That's the path we want to take. We want to return to the identity that has distinguished this club for many years. I must also thank Rangers, who agreed to this move."

Sporting director Marcus Mann added, "It's true that we agreed with Danny a week ago. A few points came up that needed clarification, that's why the process was a bit hampered. We would have liked to have finished a few days earlier, but the most important thing is that everything went smoothly. Sometimes, you can have different opinions about things – that's now been resolved."
