If Carrick is unable to turn things around, the pressure on club management will increase.

According to reports from leading media such as Sky Sports, Manchester Evening News and The Athletic, Carrick and the club management held a meeting on Monday. In this meeting, Carrick was given the opportunity to break the negative trend that the team was facing. Former Manchester United player, Gary Neville, expressed his surprise at the club's decision to keep Carrick. "I truly believe that what I saw last Sunday will be the end for Michael," Neville said on Sky Sports. "When he walked off alone at the end of the game, with the players behind him, it looked like a farewell. He waved to the fans in a way that seemed almost apologetic, but also as if it was a farewell.
