Brentford are negotiating with Burnley regarding a permanent move for winger Jaidon Anthony. The 26-year-old is exploring options to remain in the Premier League after Burnley were relegated to the Championship last season. Brentford have emerged as the favorites among several Premier League clubs, with Burnley expected to charge around £20 million for the Englishman.
Anthony attracted attention after scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 38 appearances in all competitions last season. A move to Brentford appeals to Anthony - who hails from London and started his career at Arsenal's academy - while Bees coach Keith Andrews considers it a good fit for his playing style.
Brentford have previously signed defender Jannik Schuster from RB Salzburg in a deal worth up to £16m including add-ons. Anthony left Arsenal in 2016 without ever making a senior appearance, but went on to prove himself at Bournemouth after loan spells at Weymouth and Leeds. He joined Burnley on loan from Bournemouth in 2024, and the move became permanent last summer following promotion to the Premier League, which triggered an £8m obligation-to-buy clause.
Burnley were relegated after just one season in the top flight and will face West Ham United in their first game back in the Championship on August 16. Brentford narrowly missed out on European qualification, finishing ninth last season on goal difference, and will face Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League opener.
