Bologna is currently active in the transfer market with a focus on strengthening the midfield, making names such as Peer Koopmeiners and Jordan James their main targets.
Bologna is speeding up the pace in the transfer market to strengthen the midfield which, ahead of the start of summer preparations, is one of management's top priorities. As reported in the latest edition of Resto del Carlino, the club nicknamed Rossoblù is working hard to provide two new players to coach Domenico Tedesco, in order to have a competitive squad in the first few weeks of preparation.
One name that is of major concern is Peer Koopmeiners, where the club has submitted an offer to AZ Alkmaar. Bologna is also still communicating with Juventus regarding Fabio Miretti and Vasilije Adzic. For Adzic, Juventus is expected to open a loan option with the right to redeem, while for Miretti, there needs to be an adjustment in the price which is currently set at around 15 million euros.

On the other hand, Jordan James, the Rennes midfielder who impressed last season while on loan at Leicester with a record of 11 goals and 4 assists in the Championship, is also on the target list. This player from Wales is also interested in Atalanta, Villarreal and Crystal Palace.
The need to immediately strengthen the midfield is even more urgent with the situation of Remo Freuler, whose contract has expired. To date, the contract extension appears to be at an impasse, with interest from Roma, several Bundesliga clubs, as well as clubs from Saudi Arabia.
On the other hand, there is an interesting story about Cagliari's new player, Francesco Romano. Bologna were close to completing the transfer, but the move was hampered by Domenico Tedesco's request for a player who was better equipped to compete.
