Antonio Rudiger Supports Nico Schlotterbeck's Transfer to Real Madrid

Real Madrid's search to strengthen their defense continues to be in the spotlight, and one name that has not disappeared from the list is Borussia Dortmund centre-back, Nico Schlotterbeck. The German international has emerged as a serious candidate to join Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu, as Real Madrid look to strengthen their defense ahead of the new season.

Recent reports suggest that Schlotterbeck is open to joining Real Madrid if the opportunity arises, with his reported release clause of €50 million making him an attractive option. While on international duty, Antonio Rudiger has openly expressed his admiration for his fellow Germany international amid growing speculation over a possible transfer.


When asked about Real Madrid's relationship with Schlotterbeck and midfielder Felix Nmecha, Rudiger avoided providing further details, but he was clear that he would welcome any quality additions to the squad. "Good players are always welcome. But I don't want to say more about that. I would be happy," he said, as quoted by Florian Plettenberg.

Rudiger went even further when discussing the Dortmund defender's strengths, providing a detailed assessment of why Schlotterbeck is considered one of Germany's best centre-backs. "Nico is always a threat, especially from dead ball situations. He is aggressive, always involved in duels, and his build-up play is extraordinary. His left foot is golden," he added.

Meanwhile, the German defender also spoke about Jose Mourinho's arrival at Real Madrid and plans to appoint Sami Khedira as part of the coaching staff. Reflecting on the opportunity to finally work with Mourinho, he said, "I can't say much about Khedira at the moment. But I was really looking forward to Mourinho. Finally, I got the opportunity to work under him. We had talked a lot in the past, but it never materialized. Now, finally, the opportunity is here."
