The new structure of AIA referee appointments is starting to become clear: Daniele Orsato is expected to serve in CAN A-B, Paolo Dondarini in CAN C, and Stefano Braschi as a candidate for CAN D. According to information obtained from TuttoMercatoWeb.com, the composition of refereeing officials for the 2026-2027 season is starting to be revealed. Daniele Orsato, a former international referee, is the main candidate to lead CAN, which regulates the appointment of referees for the Serie A and Serie B leagues. Meanwhile, Paolo Dondarini, who is a former international referee and currently serves as president of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Referee Committee, is expected to replace Orsato at CAN C. On the other hand, Stefano Braschi, a former international referee who once held a top position in the Italian referee organization, is indicated to be returning to handle appointments in the Serie D league. Latest news shows that this arrangement is quite clear, although for an official announcement we will have to wait until July 7. Technical director Domenico Messina will approve the new structure of the National Referee Commission, completing the reorganization ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 season.
